A Sisaket construction worker died after drowning in Lake Mabprachan on her day off.
Rescuers pulled the body of Lamyai Patmod, 55, to shore at the Pong Sub-district reservoir Jan. 2.
Lamyai’s nephew, Natee Chantra, 22, said he and his aunt had come from Issan to work in construction in the Pattaya area.
Today was their day off and, being hot, they decided to take a swim. Lamyai swam out about 500 meters and began shouting for help. She drowned before anyone could reach her.
Her body was sent to Banglamung Hospital to determine what prompted her call for help.
