Police are investigating a German man who died under suspicious circumstances as a possible murder.
Pattaya and regional police were called to a wooded area of Pratamnak Hill Jan. 5 after the body of Frank Glas Fischer, 39, was found lying on the sidewalk with a belt around his neck and severe burns to his legs.
A bottle of alcohol was found near the body.
There were no obvious signs of a struggle and a bag containing documents, clothing and other property belonging to Fischer were found about 200 meters away.
Fisher had arrived in Pattaya on Dec. 23, but police did not know where or with whom he was staying.
Police did not rule out suicide or homicide, saying more investigation was needed.
