Several organizations prepared to host Children’s Day activities

BANGKOK, 8 January 2013 On the occasion of the National Children’s Day, January 12th, many organizations are prepared to host the Children’s Day activities. 

The Science and Technology Ministry will host the event under the theme “Kids for the Future”. In addition, 75 activities, including 3D movies, universe adventure, pencil robot display, meteorite exhibition, will be held at many places during January 10-12th; including on Yothi-Rama VI Road in front of the Ministry, the National Science Museum in Pathum Thani, Science Faculty of Mahidol University, and the Science Square at Jamjuree Square.

Meanwhile, the Culture Ministry said the Thailand Cultural Center, National Library at Wasukri Pier, the Bangkok National Museum in Phra Nakorn, the Supreme Artist Hall in Pathum Thani, the Thai Film Achieve as well as local museums and historical sites across the country will host the Children’s Day celebrations.

The National Institute for Child and Family Development, Mahidol University will also organize the event, where children can see rescue robots, learn how to perform first aid on drowning people, and participate in quiz competitions.

As for the Public Relations Department, the National Broadcasting Services of Thailand (NBT) and Radio Thailand on Vibhavadi-Rangsit Road will also hold several fun activities. The highlights will be the news reading competitions in both Thai and English.

Winners will get a chance to be on television for the evening news hour as well as on Newsline on the following Monday.

Interested participants may register for the competition at the NBT station on Vibhavadi-Rangsit Road on January 12th, from 7.30-9.30 a.m. .

This year’s Children’s Day motto is “Uphold Discipline, Enhance Knowledge and Bring Thailand towards ASEAN”.
