Sunday, Feb. 25, Silky Oak – Stableford

1st Ger Lodge (19) 40pts

2nd Teddy Lodge (13) 34pts

3rd Kevin O’Sullivan (14) 33pts

We had a slow round here today at Silky Oak as the course was very busy and the groups in front moved at a snail’s pace.

Ger Lodge just had a course worker helping him instead of a caddy but it didn’t affect his golf as he was a very clear winner with an excellent forty points.  Ger’s brother Teddy was burning up the front nine where he had twenty-three points, but the wheels fell off spectacularly and he had four blanks in a row to come second and keep it a family affair today.  Kevin O’Sullivan was third but actually walked away with the most money as he had the only ‘2’ of the day.

2nd Marie McGuigan (26) 26pts

Because of the high numbers we had three flights here at Green Valley today including a separate ladies flight.

The cut for the A flight came in at seventeen and here the winner was Paul Pavloff with a two over gross score and an excellent thirty eight points.  In the B flight Joe Peters was the winner with an even par thirty six points and Paula Kopatz was the winner of the ladies’ division with thirty four.

Despite having a large group out we had no ‘2’s today.

Tuesday, Feb. 27, Mt. Shadow – Stableford

Men’s Flight

2nd Roisin McNulty (29) 28pts

We had both men’s and ladies’ flights today and Declan Kelly was a very clear winner of the former as he was the only one to beat his handicap with thirty seven points, an excellent score on this difficult course.  Joe Peters was a distant four points off Declan’s score but he still came second.

In the ladies flight Marie McGuigan was the winner with twenty eight points after edging a count-back over Roisin McNulty on the same score

Russell Gilroy and Don Everett recorded the only ‘2’s of the day.

Thursday, March 1, Eastern Star – Stableford

A Flight

1st Kevyn Wright (16) 35pts

2nd Ken Hole (18) 35pts

3rd Andy Featherstone (4) 32pts

4th Kevin Blake (7) 31pts

2nd Mick Seery (21) 31pts

3rd Theresa Connolly (20) 29pts

4th Marie McGuigan (26) 29pts

The numbers are starting to go down a bit now but we still had two flights with the cut for the A flight coming out at nineteen.  Although we didnt have enough ladies today for a separate flight they still did very well with two of them coming in the prizes.  Both Theresa Connolly and Marie McGuigan had twenty nine points and Theresa won the count back to come third in the B flight.  George Pearson was the winner of that flight with thirty-two points.

In the A flight we had two players with thirty five points and here Kevyn Wright won the count-back to come out the winner over Ken Hole in second.

Three ‘2’s came from Andy Featherstone, Kevin Blake, Mick Seery and Alec Smith
