4 Brits, Canadian among 10 nabbed on immigration charges

Four Britons and a Canadian were among nine people arrested for residing illegally in Thailand.

Pattaya and Tourist Division police announced the arrests of the unidentified foreigners March 9. No details were provided on how they were discovered.

Three British and one Indian national were arrested for overstaying their visa. Another Brit, a Canadian and two Burmese nationals were charged with residing in Thailand without a visa or passport.

And another Burmese man who left the area in Bangkok where he was authorized to work was apprehended and considered a banned person.

Police admitted 10 others managed to escape arrest.
