An honest Pattaya taxi driver was given nearly 10,000 baht as a reward for returning a bag full of valuables to a Middle Eastern tourist.

Alsahuaili Mohammed Sulaiman, 25, rewarded driver Netnapa Boonmeema with US$300 for returning a bag he left in the back of her taxi March 19.

Netnapa and Fahsek Buaphan, secretary for the Loma Pattaya Taxi Cooperative, turned over the bag to police after Netnapa discovered that Sulaiman and a fellow Dubai tourist had left it on the floor.

She said the two men had hailed her outside a North Pattaya hotel, but they had to switch cabs, as they wanted to go to Suvarnabumi International Airport.

They moved all their luggage, but forgot the handbag, which contained airline tickets, passports, two Apple iPhones, more than $3,000 cash and foreign currency.
