Several cars and motorbikes were damaged when a large tree toppled in North Pattaya.

No one was injured when the payom tree, estimated to be at least 50 years old, smashed into vehicles parked at a police barracks on Soi 5 near Second Road March 20.

The tree was massive, with a center measuring around 1.5 meters and at a height of about 20 meters.

In addition to wiping out eight police vehicles and several motorbikes, the tree also took down four electricity poles.

The Provincial Electricity Authority responded to the accident to restore power and replace the poles. PEA workers also cut apart the tree for removal.

Neighbors said a nearby massage parlor owner had predicted the tree would fall over and closed his shop for the day.
