PSC Golf from The Players’ Lounge
Sunday, March 18, Green Valley – Stableford
1st Chaten Patel (16) 40pts
2nd Peter LeNoury (15) 40pts
3rd Eddy Beilby (23) 39pts
A rather small turnout today for our Sunday bash at Green Valley, no doubt due to the golf organizer having to return to work at short notice, The weather was hot and humid with the threat of rain, which arrived as we reached the third tee and which caused a delay in play for about twenty minutes. The lads decided to carry on using their umbrellas.
Amazingly the rain did not affect the score as Chaten ‘the rajah ‘Patel and good friend Peter ‘the right honorable’ LeNoury both had 40-point returns and when the dust had settled it was Chaten who emerged with the flight gold and Peter the silver. Eddy ‘the eagle’ Beilby rounded out the flight with a fine 39 points.
Chaten and Martin Zimmerman split the 2’s pot.
Tuesday, March 20, Green Valley – Stableford
2nd Gentry Harrington (12) 39pts
3rd Stuart James (19) 37pts
Again due to the golf manager returning to work and a couple of late cancellations a much reduced field made the journey back to Green Valley, so just one flight was required. The weather was hot and humid and the course as always was in fine condition.
The scores on the day were similar to Sunday’s with a count-back between Billy ‘the hat’ Eyles and Gentry Harrington, both with 39 points. Billy took the victory but Gentry was not bothered at all as he had the day’s only 2. Stuart James closed the flight with a solid 37 points.
