Nongprue officials took new water samples from the polluted Raiwanasin Canal to try to determine what is causing the contamination.
Klit Sriboonjit, a scientist from the Disease Control Department, directed the health and sanitation workers during the March 30 test near the Raiwanasin Market. They took water samples from five spots between Chokchai Condo and the market.
Water quality, oxygen levels, bacteria content and more will be checked in order to determine what the pollution’s source is. Results are expected in a week.
Engineering Department chief Berkchai Nilpanan said Pattaya environmental staffers also have been asked to do their own tests, as the city’s first test failed due to water-current issues.
