After numerous phone calls to the PSC and King Naga we finally got the pricing right here. It was never wrong it’s just that we could not understand the prices being as low as they were. We had 17 players today and it ended up at around Bt. 1000 (all in) sharing a cart. Playing this course as this price is a great offer, and given the response (by the golfers) we will play it more often.
The Nick Faldo designed course is what it is, it rarely changes and is not what you would call a hard challenge. The facilities are somewhat dated but what do you expect for that price. Fairways were in good nick on this day, but the greens could do with a bit of work. Bunkers were raked although I noticed my caddy was not keen on doing this, maybe it had to do with the amount of times I visited them. My playing partner, Tommy Gress showed me that if you hit the ball hard enough it can bounce out of or through the bunker!
We played one division today with four podium places and it was Alex Field’s day with 7 pars and 2 bogeys on the front nine. His back nine was a bit off but still good enough to greet the judges first with 40 points overall. Second past the post was Denis Steele ahead of a log-jam for third and fourth. Six golfers returned the same score so off to the count back we went and Mashi Kaneta ended up third with Martin Kempton taking the final podium spot.
