PATTAYA – A steel plate laid over a construction zone on North Road caused traffic mayhem after it came loose.
The plate, placed by the Provincial Electricity Authority near Soi Phettrakul to cover a trough where power and utility lines will be submerged, became unstable and wobbly April 24, posing a danger to motorbikes and cars.
Traffic police deployed near the hazard and guided vehicles through the area without incident, but the problems caused a huge traffic backup.
Police contacted the PEA to make an urgent fix.
