PATTAYA – Bang Saray authorities told swimmers and fishermen to stay away from the beach following a mysterious sewage spill that blackened the sea for four days.
Authorities posted signs May 13 warning people to stay out of the water and advised fishermen to sail elsewhere until the putrid, black waters cleared.
Neighbor Prasitchai Permtermsap, 42, said the water has been smelly and murky since a series of rainstorms apparently caused sewage pipes to overflow.
Neither residents nor public officials have been able to pinpoint where the sewage was emanating from.
