The afternoon session, which runs from 2:30-5 p.m., will see audience members split into four groups to brainstorm solutions to security issues suggested by moderators, then present their conclusions.

Organizers said the seminar will focus on the causes of crime, building a network of foreign tourists and business owners and the idea of building a database to plan safety measures to protect the lives and assets of tourists.

Police have stepped up enforcement in Pattaya in the face of a surge in crime against tourists and foreigners. The Community Safety Workshop is one way, they said, to promote cooperation from citizens and have them present their views on various issues and brainstorm solutions to solving problems.
