PSC Golf from The Growling Swan
Monday, June 11, Eastern Star – Stableford
1st Alex Field (18) 34pts
2nd Mashi Kaneta (14) 32pts
3rd Lorraine Percy (36) 32pts
4th Denis Steele (15) 31pts
We have been getting mixed reports about this course but from all reports on this day it was in good nick and worth another venture down that way.
We attacked from the yellow tees (Lorraine from the red), the fairways were mowed, greens were good and bunkers had been raked. So we were set for a good day.
Alex Field started well and came in 2 points clear of second and third, that being Mashi Kaneta and Lorraine Percy who were separated by the count-back system. Fourth past the post was Denis Steele one point behind second and third.

4th Alex Field (19) 33pts

A bus load and a couple of cars full of golfers set out to take on The Crystal Bay challenge. Well it probably seemed as if the day was on a downward spiral for one golfer, getting lost not once but twice on the way out. He must have been thinking as to how bad can this day get, well it did get better!
The course was in good nick and generally held sway against the field. Crystal Bay is what it is, a good course that is maintained and never too busy, it is one of the Swan’s favorites.
Bill Steinmann finally found the course, parked the car and his thoughts too as he was on song on the course. From the first tee box (as he sent one straight down the middle) he was heard muttering “I wish I had that luck in the car.” Anyway Bill ended the round with 36 points, tying for first spot but winning via the count-back system. Mashi was the unfortunate golfer that lost out but as always he was humble in defeat. Big hitter Glenn Smith came in third, with Alex Field a further point behind to take fourth spot.
