BANGKOK, Jan 26 —  A plurality of Bangkok voters will make their decision who to choose as Bangkok governor based on policies announced during election the campaign, while 17% plan to cast their ballots based on qualifications or party affiliation, according to Suan Dusit Poll.

The survey was conducted by Suan Dusit Rajabhat University from January 20-25 among 1,139 respondents in the capital city of Bangkok and concluded that the major factor for Bangkok residents to decide who they would vote for as governor was the policies that each candidate presented during their campaign.

Some 13.91 per cent said they would select based on image and perceived honesty.

Among those polled, 35.04 per cent wanted to tell the candidates that their policy should be feasible, more than 20 per cent wanted to see Bangkok developed in all aspects and slightly less than 20 per cent preferred to request the Bangkok Governor election be a free and fair election.

The majority of the respondents agreed that Mr Suharit Siamwalla’s campaign was the most innovative, which relied on new technology.

Seven more candidates applied to enter the race for the March 3 Bangkok governor election on the last day of applications Friday, bringing the total number of candidates to 25.
