June saw another Joint Chambers of Commerce networking night, this time at the Holiday Inn’s Executive Tower in their Workshop area, a very unique inside atmosphere, complete with engine blocks supporting finger food. Always fun.

The hosts were Belu-Thai and the Netherlands-Thai Chamber of Commerce, with Executive Director Hans van den Born circulating and looking after a very well attended networking.

And the rabbits? Deborah Rabbit from the Rabbit Resort, with the help of the charming Sarinna and Cholticha from Absolute Health, was handing out tiny porcelain rabbit candles, just in case we ever dared to forget Deborah Rabbit!

Other health professionals were present, with Nui, Tanya and Metas from Bangkok Hospital Pattaya on hand to fight off the opposition from Absolute Health’s Dr Sitt Tienthitti and their portable TENS machine.

Thierry Roux from World Transfer attempted to interest me in his company’s money transfer system, which he assured me was the best for pensioners bringing their money into Thailand. When he found out that I was neither a pensioner, nor a well-heeled retired gentleman of means, he moved on.

Familiar faces included Simon Matthews from Manpower (with a very subdued shirt for once) along with Phooritut Uthaiwong, his Service Delivery Manager. Another well-known face was Steve Fraser, the MD of Kiwi Resource Protection, so if you have some kiwi’s needing protection from marauding wallaby’s, Steve’s your man.

From Kiwi’s to tigers with Jarryd Turner, a film maker at Siam Tiger Productions, who can film, edit and even do 24 hour time lapse. Whether that can be done with the bill, you’ll have to ask Jarryd.

At a gathering of three people you will always find Graham Macdonald, the always busy Seth Afrikkan Chamber president, along with Jack Levy of Macallan Insurance Brokers, named after his son, or was his son named after the Scotch? The third place at the table was taken by Allan Riddell, also waving the SA consultancy flag. Pattaya is an amazing place.

A top evening and a credit to the organizing chambers and the venue hosts Holiday Inn.
