79 players, including 6 ladies, made the journey up Highway 331 to the Treasure Hill course to play in the latest PAGS monthly tournament on June 27. Play was from the yellow tee markers but still the course was the same challenge it always provides for players of all abilities. A heavy shower at around midday which lasted for about 30 minutes put a bit of a dampener on some rounds, but overall conditions may well have improved after the rain passed, with a light breeze alleviating the heat a little.

As with most months there is one, or sometimes several outstanding performances for the tournament. This month special mentions should go to Pelle Pettersson, who got the top spot in A Flight & 3 technical prizes, with Amphai Noksa getting the Ladies & a NTP.

The C flight of handicaps 22+ was won by Mike Turner (H/cap 25), who led the way home by a clear 2 points with 39, to go with his NTP on #17, ahead of Sugar Ray Handford (24), while Dan Margetts (25) needed a countback to take third spot after signing for 35 points, with 18 on the back 9.

The B flight, for handicaps 14-21, was tightly contested, with all placegetters separated by only 1 point.  Glenn Armistead (18) was the winner on countback over Mikael Andersson (19) 22/19 after both signed for 37 points.  Werner Schwarz (14) got the bronze medal position with a well earned 36 points.

Pelle (11) was the clear winner in A Flight with his 37 points, assisted by a chip in on #18, 2 points clear of Gerd Riedler (11) who also got a technical prize.  The low spot on the podium required a 3-way countback, with Urs Wandeler (12) coming out victorious on 34 points, over Steve Truelove and Vinai Jumparnit.

Vinai Jumparnit won the Low Gross & 2 technical prizes, while other honorable mentions go out to multiple winners in the technical prizes, getting their maximum 2 prizes were Colin Ward, who got both Long Putts and Jeff Wylie.
