Pattaya has cleaned up the beachfront in front of Koh Larn’s fishing pier to prevent damage to small boats.
Island sanitation chief Itthiphol Nethiyakub Singkornkaew led the July 12 operation to remove rocks and gravel from the sandy base of the pier following complaints from local fishermen.
Large vehicles scooped up and filtered the sand before carrying away the rocky mixture.
Fisherman said the debris washed ashore over time created a hazard to the hulls of their small boats.
