A group of U.S. Navy veterans brightened the day of children at the Human Help Network Drop-In Center with games and lunch.

The informal group of retired sailors led by Peter Thorand were welcomed to the daycare facility July 19 by Director Pirun Noy-eemjai and HHN Thailand Assistant Director Siromet Akapongpanit.

The vets played tug o’ war and educational games, practiced reading off cards and more before becoming the students with the kids teaching the adults traditional Thai games.

After serving ice cream, the vets donated boxes of milk, toothpaste, soap and other things the children needed.

Staffers explained to the visitors how the majority of the children ended up at the center, their daily activities and more.

The day ended with the children and vets singing songs.
