BANGKOK, 19 March 2011 (NNT) – Her Royal Highness Princess Ubolratana has graciously donated two million baht in cash and a number of blankets to aid disaster victims of a massive earthquake and tsunami in Japan.
Representing the Princess, Dr Manas Nonuch , director of the Policy and Planning Office of the Miracle of Life Foundation under the royal patronage, presented the donations to Foreign Minister Kasit Piromya and Japanese ambassador to Thailand Seiji Kojima at a ceremony on Friday.
Mr Kojima expressed his gratefulness for the kindness of HRH Princess Ubolratana. He also pledged that the Japanese government would try to restore the situation in the country to normalcy as soon as possible.
In addition, PTT Director Prasert Bunsumpun reportedly made a 5-million-baht donation via the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to assist Japanese victims on the same day.
