As usual the Pattavia course was in pristine condition, fairways were clean and the greens were like you were putting on ice, in particular the front-nine. We attacked the course from the white tees and with twenty golfers we were playing two flights.

A Flight saw Keith Buchanan, fresh from his trip across the Gulf, take the chocolates on his first venture back with us with 38 points. Second place went to Steve Younger, using his newly adjusted handicap while third on count-back was Denis Steele over the unfortunate Craig Duncan.

Patrick Poussier took charge in B Flight and finished the day with a good score of 36 points. Second went to Gary Jones 2 shots clear of Alex Field in third.

Twenty golfers put their names down to have a crack at this month’s inaugural Take it Easy Monthly Mug. Attacking from the yellow tees (stroke event) we played courses C & B in that order. The course (from all reports) was in great nick and very typical of Crystal Bay. Fairways were in great shape and the greens played true all day.

A Flight saw Jayson Schembri take out first place by the barest of margins, his net 65 put him one solitary stroke in front of his nearest rival Denis Steele. There was a little bit of daylight till we got to our third placed golfer on the podium Mark Stapleton.

B Flight saw Jerry Dobbs (66 net) take out first place again by the skinniest of margins, just one stroke in front of second placed Shane Young. Third by a neck was Andrew (Turtle) Allen.
