Russian Ivan Skiba has been arrested and will be deported to face manslaughter charges in Novosibirsk, Siberia.

Immigration police re-arrested a Russian man previously convicted of drug possession after they discovered he was a wanted fugitive.

Five months after Ivan Skiba, 24, was nabbed for marijuana and ecstasy, Chonburi Immigration Police realized he was the same man wanted on an Interpol red notice for manslaughter in his home city of Novosibirsk in Siberia.

Interpol described Skiba as dangerous, violent and an escape risk and that he faces eight years in prison.

Skiba was convicted on the drug charge on June 22 and sentenced to 13 months in jail. But the court suspended the term and granted him permission to leave. Since Thai authorities were never clued in on the fact he was a fugitive, he stayed.

But the Russian also let his visa expire and when Chonburi Immigration finally came knocking at his TW Jomtien Beach Condominium door, they charged him with overstaying his visa and promised to deport him once he does some time in a Thai jail cell.
