Nongprue youths got a lesson in the birds and the bees in a sub district-organized sex education course.
Pattama Chanchiew, director of the Nongprue Social Welfare Department, opened the Aug. 18 course at Wat Boonsamphan School. About 70 students and teachers from Wat Boonsamphan, Wat Suttawat, Wat Khao Phothong, Sawang Boriboon Wittaya, Tungkom and Nernplabwan, schools plus the Redemptorist Children’s Home participated.
Lecturer Sujang Suksawad taught not only the science of sex education, but the morality and social implications of teenage sex at the seminar, which stressed abstinence, as well as how to prevent pregnancy and sexually transmitted disease.
