Phuket, 10th September 2018 – The Phuket Local Administrative Organization recently organized an education fair to set a direction for local schools.
Deputy Director-General of the Department of Local Administration Kajohn Srichavanotai presided over the opening ceremony of the fair, running from September 9th – 11th at the Phuket Rajabhat University and the Gynesium Hall of the Saphan Hin Sports Center in the capital district of Phuket.
Objectives of the event, being held on the theme “Smart Learning,” are promoting and supporting children and youths in developing skills and gaining knowledge, and allowing them to demonstrate their talents and academic prowess.
The fair, the 10th of its kind, offers various academic seminars to discuss the direction of local education and approaches to improving the quality of local education.
The “Smart Learning” theme underlines human resource enhancement, which the organizers hope will lead to community empowerment and eventually, national development. The organizers have myriad activities arranged, such as academic quizzes, learning workshops, a ceremony to hand out awards to outstanding teachers and kindergarten supervisors.
Deputy Director-General Kajohn highlighted the role of the Local Administrative Organization in developing local education in accordance with the national education standard. He said an important duty of the organization is fostering children to be capable adults.
