Television host and disabled-access advocate Kritsana Lalai checked on the progress of making Pattaya’s tourist attractions friendlier to wheelchair users.

Tourism promotion chief Ornwara Korapin and other regional officials welcomed Kritsana, who heads the Friendly Design for All Foundation, to Jomtien Beach for his Sept. 15-16 tour. In Jomtien, he surveyed the installation of wheelchair ramps.

He stressed it was important that parked cars not block access to the ramps. Kritsana then continued on to the Chak-ngaw Chinese village and Nong Nooch Tropical Garden.

The Designated Areas for Sustainable Tourism Administration teamed up with the Friendly Design for All Foundation to create a prototype tourist attraction route from Takhiantia to Pattaya. FDAF says it’s possible that all tourist attractions can be modern while offering safety and convenience for all.
