PSC golf from The Fairway Golf Society

Monday, March 14, Crystal Bay – Stableford

When we arrived here today the weather was overcast and there was a nice cool breeze so it was ideal for playing golf.  Although you would not have thought so by the scores returned.  Not one golfer managing to play to their handicap.  But the competition was close with over 80% of the field within 4 shots of each other.

Near pins today went to Tony Duthie, Phil Mitchell, Brian Maddox and Ed Stewart.

1st Phil Mitchell (6) 35pts

2nd Jan Van Spellen (18) 34pts

3rd Terry Droy (22) 33pts

4th Joop Medze (17) 33pts

Wednesday, March 16, Treasure Hill – Stableford

The weather today was cool and overcast so it was ideal for golf.  Normally the course wins when we play here but today a couple of players, notably Brian Maddox and Gary Rotabery, managed to tame it by each scoring 36 points.  Brian came out on top with a 13-11 front 6 count-back.

Four of the Fairways’s golfers who played at Soi Dao last week: Brian & Ning Neal, Tony Duthie and Shane Ruddle. Four of the Fairways’s golfers who played at Soi Dao last week: Brian & Ning Neal, Tony Duthie and Shane Ruddle.

It was Gary Cambell’s birthday today and he almost celebrated it with a hole in one but the ball ran just past the hole.  Near pin winners were Phil Mitchell, Ning Neal, Gary Cambell and Pier Cere.

1st Brian Maddox (22) 36pts

2nd Barry Rotabery (22) 36pts

3rd Ning Neal (17) 35pts

4th Joop Medze (17) 34pts

Friday, March 18, Greenwood – Stableford

Not such a large field today as half of our society travelled to Soi Dao for a two day tournament with The Golf Club, so there were no near pins and only one division.

The winner today was Ed Stewart with 34 points and to my knowledge this is the first time Ed has won with us although he’s been in the frame a few times.  So congratulations to him.

1st Ed Stewart (14) 34pts

2nd Joop Medze (17) 32pts

3rd Scott Dobbin (0) 31pts

The group that went to Soi Dao with The Golf Club would like to thank Brad Sproxton for a wonderfully well organised tournament a great time was had by all.  Thanks again Brad.
