With Golf Chairman Joe Mooneyham away in America it was Charity Chairman William Macey and Social Chairman Nigel Cannon who took care of this month’s tournament with help from Vice President Dennis Willett.  Preparation work in the office was in the ever capable hands of Khun Mai.

It was Dennis and Nigel on the registration desk with William as the starter.  There was a full complement of 128 playing today with just a couple of last minute adjustments.  The weather was fine and hot and the course in good condition with greens a little slow but most rounds were completed in 4½ hours.  As with a number of courses this year, caddies were in short supply and were supplemented by others whose navigational skills and golf knowledge were doubtful!

The low gross winner with a fine 77 gross and winning on count back from Bob Watson was Martin Hayes (12) who said afterwards, “I had the round of my life.”

In ‘A’ Flight, playing medal from the white tees, it was Francis Goyons (9) with a net 71 in top spot.

It was 40+ in the men’s Stableford flights (yellow tees) with Gary Saunders (16) taking ‘B’ Flight with 44 points, Jens Jensson (18) ‘C’ Flight with the best of the day 46 points, and Jiri Skaba (34) ‘D’ Flight with 42 points.

Just 10 ladies today with Hana Skabova (30) leading with 37 points and Seesa Phonpinmon (28) runner-up with 34 points.

After the golf it was off to Dicey Riley’s for the presentation where a superb buffet was ready and excellent drink service.  After all were satisfied it was time to hear who were the winners today.

Nigel called order and welcomed players and guests and introduced William Macey.  He reminded all that the next tournament was the annual PSC major fundraising event, the Charity Classic at Burapha on Friday 22nd March.  The format is a 2-person scramble and will be a shotgun start at Noon with many prizes and the presentation in the clubhouse.

Following the lucky draw it was time for the 50/50 draw and tickets were sold by the lovely Wendy Chetland, to whom we express our appreciation.  The 50/50 draw was shared by Barry Elphick and Barry Oats who were seen with big smiles.  It was then goodnight after another successful PSC tournament.
