A transvestite prostitute was arrested for allegedly robbing an elderly Australian customer while he slept.
Jaruwit Kuasang, 30, was apprehended Oct. 12 with US$500 in travelers checks issued to John Glover Barnett, 71.
Police said Barnett had taken the ladyboy to his hotel. After he fell asleep, Jaruwit stole 35,000 baht, AU$2,500 cash and US$1,000 in traveler’s checks.
Police said Jaruwit was arrested 10 times previously for drug use and admitted to the crime, saying he gave the cash to family members, but was afraid to cash the checks for fear of getting caught.
