Thai EXIM Bank lends THB150mil for high-speed communication system development

BANGKOK, 4 March 2013  Export -Import Bank of Thailand (EXIM Bank) has approved more than a hundred million baht in financial support to help develop the country’s high-speed communication system. 

EXIM Bank President Kanit Sukonthaman, on Monday, joined Mr. Kranphol Asawasuwan and Mrs. Bussakorn Jaruwachirathanakul, President and Executive Vice President of Symphony Communication Public Company Limited in the signing of a 150-million-baht loan for the expansion of the communication network in the eastern seaboard.

The credit lines were also intended to enable the development of the fiber-optic cable network, needed for the introduction of 3G mobile phone service, cable and satellite TV systems as well as the digital TV broadcast, in the region.

Mr. Kanit said EXIM Bank has the responsibilities to help develop the high-speed communication system and the Disaster Recovery Operation Center (DROC) in the East as well as support the expansion of related networks in key cities across the country, where business growth is forecast ahead of the emergence of the ASEAN Economic Community in 2015.
