Rudy Regenass that was first past the post with 39 points, a solitary shot clear of 3 golfers fighting it out for second spot. Colm Lawlor took it while Keith Buchanan had to settle for third and Rod Weekes missed out.

We sent off two buses and a couple of cars to Crystal Bay, today’s destination, and we were not too sure as to what to expect with plenty of rain all week and an absolute deluge the night before. We were expecting no carts on course, and “lift clean & place”, would be the rule, but much to our amazement neither were the case and we were set for a good game with only our ability getting in the way.

We played from the yellow tees and the course was in good shape (considering the rains). With today’s numbers we were only able to have the one flight with four places and all novelties in play.

We saw a welcome return by John Davis who hadn’t played with us for a few months and greeted the judges with a very good score of 43 points, leaving his nearest rivals two shots behind. Second went to the countback, with rivals Steve Younger and Keith Buchanan returning the same scores, but it was the latter getting the nod for the silver spot. Fourth place went to Rod Weekes, getting some late cash to take back with him.
