Bangkok – The Prime Minister declared his stance against corruption to mark International Anti-Corruption Day on December 9th as he also gave awards to government agencies demonstrating organizational transparency.
During the declaration ceremony, Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha said the government has campaigned for awareness of the scourge of corruption and has a zero tolerance policy against all forms of graft. It has therefore introduced inspection mechanisms to ensure project transparency and has pursued legal action against perpetrators. He also urged the Thai people to take part in the campaign to boost international credibility.
The premier then gave awards to government agencies for good governance and transparency. Agencies ranked the highest include the Office of the Ombudsman, the Government Housing Bank, Mahidol Wittayanusorn School, the Office of the Permanent Secretary of Public Health, Uthai Thani Provincial Administration, and Bansomdejchaopraya Rajabhat University.
