Deputy Agriculture Minister Laks Wojananwach visited a Ban Bung farm-equipment company to see how it uses new technology to increase the efficiency of planting.
Chonburi Deputy Gov. Thammasak Rattanatanya greeted Laks at Siam Kubota Cooperation Co. Nov. 30.
Kubota executives showed off their Kubota (Agri) Solutions Project, a 150-million-baht agricultural system to increase efficiency in farm planting.
The project aims to give farmers practical experience in planting using modern agricultural methods. The idea is for it to be a center of agricultural knowledge for farmers of many different crops. The center will provide training and test new Kubota equipment.
The 220-rai project area is split into four zones.
Zone 1 offers an introduction to the system.
Zone 2 focuses on precision agriculture and post-harvest methods to increase efficiency in rice farming.
Zone 3 is devoted to agricultural management for farms of 10-15 rai. It will provide farmers knowledge about planning, internal management, and use of proper agricultural equipment.
Lastly, Zone 4 is a test farm growing cassava, sugarcane and corn. It shows how precision agricultural technology can be used to maximize income and provides training on various pieces of equipment.
