Chonburi asked Pattaya-area boat and floating restaurant operators how new environmental regulations might affect them.

Deputy Gov. Wisit Pungpetch chaired the Jan. 10 meeting on the latest update to the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment’s list of protected sites in Banglamung District.

The draft list outlines coastal and marine areas to receive official government protection, including coral reefs.

The regulations will impact the current business practices of boat and jet ski operators as well as several floating restaurants. The operators were given a chance to provide input that will go into the final report.

The report covers jobs, security, competitiveness, development and environmental quality. (PCPR)
