Bangkok – The Royal Thai Air Force has deployed its aircraft to sprinkle water over greater Bangkok to lower the amount of dust in the air.
Carrying 3,000 liters of water and hovering at a height of 1,500 feet, on Wednesday BT-67 aircraft sprayed mist into the air in four areas of Bangkok – Din Daeng District, Fortune Town shopping center, Chatuchak District and Kasetsart intersection.
The Directorate of Civil Affairs of the Royal Thai Air Force said this particular aircraft is normally used in support of the country’s cloud seeding and wildfire operations, while assuring the public that its air pollution control effort will not end until the situation returns to normal.
Also, water trucks have been dispatched to several areas to assist the effort. People are advised to wear a face mask for outdoor activities for the time being.
