Bangkok – The University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce (UTCC) says that e-Commerce business will be among rising stars this year.
According to the Director of UTCC’s Center for Economic and Business Forecasting, Thanawat Ponvichai, the 10 rising businesses of 2019 are e-Commerce, health and beauty, cosmetics, information technology and logistics, financial technology and e-payments, tourism and hospitality, food and insurance, education and language tutoring, construction and real estate, and car care, publication, and packaging businesses.
Businesses on the decline this year include book publishing, handicrafts and furniture, leather-related businesses, landline phone services, private schools and universities, toys, retail, flowers, rubber, and palm oil production.
Thanawat expects the Thai economy to expand between 4 and 4.2%, thanks to a giant wave of spending during the election, state-sponsored projects, and the restructuring of the Thai economy in accordance with the Thailand 4.0 policy.
Economic recovery can be expected in the latter half of 2019.
