Bangkok – The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense has ordered all military branches to support state efforts to contend with air pollution.
Defense Ministry Spokesperson Lt Gen Kongcheep Tantrawanich says that DPM and Defense Minister Gen Prawit Wongsuwan has ordered all agencies under the Ministry of Defense and all military factions to join in the effort to eradicate particulate matter or PM 2.5 pollution from Bangkok and its vicinity. They have been authorized to employ any equipment needed to deal with the situation and were ordered to try out new methods to reduce air pollution.
In the long run, military units operating in and around Bangkok are to limit causes of particulate matter dispersion. They have been told to inspect military vehicles and to look into using B20 fuel.
