Bangkok – The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) has provided training to officers who will be stationed at polling stations on March 24th.
BMA Permanent Secretary, Silapasuay Raweesaengsoon, chaired the training’s inauguration on Saturday. The training course was held for BMA officials who will assist the Election Commission of Thailand (EC) in organizing the election of members of parliament (MPs) next month. A total of 30 constituencies are being contested in Bangkok on March 24th. Ballot casting is open from 8am to 5pm on the day.
Last week, 53 political parties registered 932 MP candidates for Bangkok.
In Si Sa Ket province, Governor Weerasak Vijitsangsri and officials from the Provincial EC Office of Si Sa Ket met with 264 MP candidates to go over campaigning regulations while calling for fair, clean, and free elections in the province.
In Udon Thani, the Provincial EC Office of Udon Thani launched a campaign to unify parties and voters, and to educate local people about the forthcoming election. The opening ceremony was witnessed by 400 people on Saturday. The province has eight electoral constituencies and 2,177 polling places.
