Bangkok – Good air quality was reported in the greater Bangkok area on Sunday but officials say the PM2.5 concentrations could rise this week.

The website Air4thai operated by the Pollution Control Department reported good air quality throughout the capital city with concentrations of fine particulate matter averaging below 50 microgram per cubic meter which is the 24-hour safety level set by the department.

In the meantime, northern Thailand recorded PM2.5 concentrations of between 26 and 59 micrograms per cubic meter on Sunday

Dust particle readings in the northeastern region ranged from 40 to 65 micrograms per cubic meter. The area with the highest concentration was the capital district of Khon Kaen province where air quality was described as “starting to affect public health.”
