Polling stations ready for early voting

: Bangkok – The Deputy Secretary-General of the Election Commission (EC), Metha Silaphan, said all central polling stations throughout Thailand are ready for early voting ahead of the general election, which will take place on March 24th, 2019.

Metha said the EC officials nationwide had inspected the readiness of the central polling stations in all electoral districts, as early voting will be held on March 17th.

The EC will not extend the time for voting at any polling stations, but eligible voters who enter the polling stations by 5 p.m. can still cast their votes.

He has stressed that voters are not allowed to use any tools or equipment to take pictures of the used ballot or they will face a penalty of one year imprisonment or a fine of 20,000 baht or both.
