Tune Hotels, Asia’s emerging force in award-winning “value on a budget” hotel development, has launched a regional community project to beautify the neighborhoods in which they operate.

The “Neighbors in Tune” Community Beautification Project was launched on March 18 and ran over two days, in Tune Hotel across Thailand, the Philippines and Indonesia in a unique community initiative undertaken by the hotel group.

In Thailand, a key development market for the rapidly expanding budget hotel brand, Tune Hotels in Bangkok, Pattaya, Phuket and Hat Yai engaged in a raft of activities with local partners to make neighborhoods look better, and neighbors feel better.

In the south, Tune Hotel Hat Yai joined hands with Songkla Municipality, Odean Shopping Mall, Diana Shopping Mall and Haad Tip Company to see a 40-strong team plant trees at Laem Son Aon Lake. While at Tune Hotel Patong, Phuket, the group was joined by Simon Cabaret Show and Kathu Chief District Officer, Veera Kerdsirimongkol who headed to the famous beachfront, brooms in hand, to clean debris and garbage off the beach.

Tune Hotel Pattaya partnered with the Civil Defense Association led by Eakkasith Tanyakarn and Sawangboriboon Foundation Pattaya City’s Prasit Thongthitcharoen while Duang Pratheep Foundation teamed up with Bangkok Tune Hotel Asoke and painted the Community Heath and Development Centre in the Bon Kai community.

Tune Hotels in Thailand are owned and operated by Red Planet Hotels and Senior Vice President Sales and Marketing, Mark Armsden, said it was important to not only provide innovative new hotel options to leisure and business travelers but to be equally creative in the contribution made to the community.

“We are delighted to roll out ‘Neighbors in Tune’ this week and it has been encouraging to not only join with local officials who have been tremendously supportive but with the local communities that turned out in force to help along with guests in our hotels also participating,” he said.

“We very much see ourselves as long term partners, fully committed to the communities in which we operate. This is just the beginning. We look forward to doing more in Tune’s neighborhoods and communities in the future.”
