Railroad-maintenance workers have replaced a train-crossing gate damaged by a speeding car.

Pattaya Train Station inspector Sowat Wonglaphot led a team of workers to the rail crossing on Siam Country Club Road April 8 to repair the barricade, which was bent and broken in a car accident. The gate was obstructing the railroad, posing a hazard to passing trains.

Workers removed the barricade, cut it into two halves and connected a new part at the lower side of the beam. The work tied up traffic for about 20 minutes.

Train inspectors can be notified of any signaling or safety problems by calling 1690.
