A roast pork vendor who found 206,000 baht near the Nongyai railroad tracks returned the money to its rightful owner with the help of Chonburi police and Sophon Cable TV.
Thaweesak Phanwilai, 43, said he found the satchel containing 90,000 baht and a check for 106,000 baht on his way home. He and his wife contacted Sophon Cable to put out an alert to the bag’s owner.

Chonburi Station commander Maj. Gen. Khatcha Thatsart sent officers from Pattaya and Banglamung to find the owner, Ruangsak Deebunchai, the 50-year-old owner of the Ruangkaset rice shop on Naklua Soi 13.
A grateful Ruangsak arrived at the television station to find all the money he lost and, in gratitude, gave cash to Thaweesak’s daughter.
The pork vendor said he wasn’t seeking a reward for his deed. He and his family worried about the stress Ruangsak must have felt in losing that much money.
Khatcha congratulated Thaweesak’s honesty, noting it was harder for police to find a good person than a bad one.
