BANGKOK, 3 May 2013 The SUPPORT Arts and Crafts International Center of Thailand (SACICT) has hosted the Open Innovation Arts International Festival or the International Innovative Craft fair for 2013, of which the opening ceremony was presided over by Director of Center for International Arts and Crafts Ms. Pimpapaan Chansilpa.

This is the second time the Fair has been held as a result of positive feedback from the previous one. International Innovative Craft Fair, or the IICF 2013, offers artists and art lovers a chance to showcase their talent while promoting the Thai artistry at the same time. The purpose of the IICF is to promote traditional Thai artwork internationally. The event is also a golden opportunity for Thai entrepreneurs to attract their overseas counterparts. The participants in the event are eligible to receive awards for their artwork and craftsmanship. The IIFC hopes to promote the Thai artistry both domestically and internationally through tourists and international art fans attending the event.

The IIFC is also seen as a way to strengthen relations between Thai artists and international dealers, given networking and connectivity created during the event. Moreover, the Fair encourages participants to learn the art of Thai crafts in different ramifications such as pottery, sculpture, and woodcraft from the best craftsmen in Thailand

The event is currently being held from the 2nd to the 5th of May at the BITEC Bangna Exhibition Centre from 10am to 8pm. For more information, please visit: www.iicf2013.com
