BANGKOK, 7 May 2013 The Army’s Region 4 commander has instructed security officers to search for those behind recent violent attacks in Pattani Province.

Army’s Region 4 Spokesman Colonel Pramote Promin said on Monday that the latest arson attack in Pattani on Sunday night did not appear to be targeting state officials.

Still, Colonel Pramote stated that the Army’s Region 4 Commander has already urged related officers to investigate the cause of the attack.

He also expressed appreciation for residents of the southern border province of Pattani in collaborating with the government in tackling all attacks.

When asked about security program for the Deep South, Colonel Pramote stated that the Defense Minister and the Army’s Commander-in-Chief have been stressing with their teams about the necessity of security measures in the violence-torn region.

He added that state offices at all levels have been ordered to keep a close eye on any suspicious activity while the government is attempting to urgently restore peace in the southern border area as soon as possible.
