The Hard Rock Hotel raised 1 million baht at its 16th charity concert for HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn’s charity fund and the Hard Rock’s own community service projects.
Pattaya City Council Chairman Anan Angkanawisai kicked off the July 5 show by The Parkinson for 230 people who paid 3,000 baht each to get in.
House band Nakita took the stage first as the curtain raiser and, after the main act, Kavee Suwannachartpan and the Pattaya Mail’s Tony Malhotra emceed an auction for a signed Parkinson guitar, hotel vouchers and more.
The guitar went for 10,000 baht while a four-night stay at Gili Lankanfushi Maldives went for 90,000 baht to a former hotel staffer. The combined profits from tickets, donations and the auction netted 1 million baht for the royal charity, scholarships under the Rock the School, Rock the Lunch and Rock the Farm.
