TAT forecast THB300 mln in spending at upcoming travel fair

BANGKOK, 28 May 2013 The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) expects the upcoming travel fair to generate several hundreds of millions of baht in holiday spending. 

TAT Deputy Governor for Domestic Marketing Thawatchai Arunyik revealed that Thailand Tourism Festival 2013 (TTF 2013) will take place during June 5-9 at Challenger 1-3, Muang Thong Thani, under the budget of 75 million baht.

Mr. Thawatchai said that TTF 2013 has been planned to help boost domestic travel industry and to go in line with an ambition to turn Thailand into a regional travel hub of the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) in 2015.

He added that various cultural highlights from across Thailand will be represented at the event in order to boost travelers’ interest in local holiday experiences.

It is expected that about 200,000 visitors will flock to the fair and spend about 300 million baht during the 4-day period.
