Pattaya City Football Club were on their travels last weekend to play second placed The Londoner, who needed to win to keep their hopes alive of taking this year’s championship.

After City’s Paul Fox fired wide from a good position early on, The Londoner put heavy pressure on the City defense but a succession of free headers were wasted.  The City keeper was called into action with two good saves but The Londoner still missed good chances, the best being to their forward who robbed a City defender and with only the keeper to beat he blasted the ball over the bar.

The Londoner continued the barrage on the City goal but at half time the score still stood 0-0.  The second half started much as the first finished with The Londoner putting the pressure on the City defense and long shots raining down on the goal.  It was inevitable that the breakthrough would come, and when the City defense failed to make an effective clearance, Londoner’s Osboure picked up the loose ball and shot past the stranded Pattaya keeper to make it 1-0.

Almost immediately The Londoner doubled their score when a curling shot by Almond deceived the City keeper to make it 2-0.  City’s keeper was kept in constant action and made another fine save soon after, but he was powerless to prevent The Londoner from scoring a third goal when Almond flicked the ball home.

The hosts were on the rampage at this stage and a shot by Grant was only partially parried by the City goalkeeper and the ball fell to a Londoner forward who tapped it home to make the score 4-0.  The home team had scored four goals in six minutes and soon added a fifth when Grant scored his second of the match with a shot from outside the area.

City had a chance of their own to pull a goal back but Emery’s shot was cleared off the line and to compound the visitors misery, The Londoner score two further goals before the end of the match through Prenenty and Massey to make the final score 7-0.
