BANGKOK, 24 June 2013 The Customs Department in Songkhla Province has confiscated 200 vehicles that were illegally imported from Malaysia and Singapore.
he automobiles were illegally imported from Singapore and Malaysia. After an initial investigation, police said some of the cars had reportedly been stolen, while some others had had stickers on the windshields granting access to Malaysia’s Yang di-Pertuan Agong’s palace.
The police said documents of the vehicles were not in order and no original papers could be presented. The police have, therefore, confiscated all of the vehicles pending a probe to find out who was behind the smuggling.
The Customs Department further revealed that it had continuously been on alert for this kind of crime, while trying its best to prevent collusion between traders and officials.
