BANGKOK, 25 June 2013 The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) has held a seminar to promote Bangkok as the city free of narcotic drugs in every level of the society.

According to Adviser to the Bangkok Governor Pol Maj-Gen Vichai Sangprapai, who presided over the opening ceremony of the seminar at the City Hall, the seminar is aimed at encouraging everyone’s participation in helping prevent drug abuse in Bangkok, given a higher number of drug sales and users reported in the capital city.

He said it is important that all the stakeholders get involved in the drug eradication campaign and educate people in the community, particularly students, about the consequences of drug abuse. According to him, the BMA is targeting a reduction of drug users within 3 months.
