Commerce Ministry to propose stimulus measures

BANGKOK, 12 July 2013 Deputy Minister of Commerce Yanyong Puangrach is ready to submit to a meeting economic stimulus measures aimed at monitoring the Thai economic situation in the second half of the year. 

According to Mr Yanyong, the economy in the first half of 2013 was at a satisfactory level and domestic consumption was normal. In the economic monitoring meeting at Government House on Friday, the ministry would propose the stimulus measures to boost entrepreneur confidence, he said.

The deputy minister also expressed concerns over some projects scheduled to take place this year and vowed to help low-income consumers. Regarding the news about chemically contaminated rice, Mr Yanyong confirmed that Thailand exported quality rice that met global standards and there were many agencies inspecting the rice’s quality. He called on the people not to panic over the news.
